A typical Malaysian coffee experience

In Malaysia, coffee is enjoyed in many ways – black, white, frothy (“tarik”). A typical afternoon snack is a cup of good local coffee accompanied by roti bakar – thick slices of toast, slathered with butter and home-made kaya (coconut jam). The coffee is usually taken black, with sugar.
